Day 99: bet you can't guess what I'm doing today

Studying!

Day 98: Initiate Extreme Studying!

Finals are this week and next, so needless to say, I'll be a little stressed/busy.
I made a delicious steak dinner for Chris and I.YUM!

Day 97: I told you so

....where to start....
I believe an I told you so is appropriate here.
Long story short, Mom had appendicitis all day yesterday, refused to go to the hospital until after Sean's final musical performance as a Senior. She finally went yesterday at 2335, even though the pain started at 0900 am!
Needless to say, none of us got much sleep.Mom gave me permission to use this picture....although, she may not remember it seeing as she was on some pretty strong pain meds....

She was admitted to the hospital and scheduled for an appendectomy at 0800 today.
The rooms were VERY nice.
Dad and I shared the couch for our 2-3 hour "sleep/nap."
They took her down for surgery

...waiting....

Mom's fingers are so small, her wedding band only fits on my pinkie finger.
The surgery went very well, and she is resting. Chris came up and surprised Mom with flowers and a balloon. She was so happy to see him.

While Mom was taking a morphine induced nap, we went out to my favorite burger place, Red Robin. The kid's cups are so cute!

Later that day Mom met all of her requirements she needed to be able to come home, YAY!

Day 96: Marching for the Babies!

March of Dimes!!! What a crappy day for the event, but there was a great turn out, despite the rain.I got to hang out with my Aunt and cousins. They had a cool school bus that was converted into a play area for the young kids. There was even a ball pit in the back!....apparently blue leopard tights are in now...good to know.Jolie and McKenna always get autographs from the shows.
Sean's signature was a MUST!

Day 95: Handsome Baby Boy!

Meet Landon Ashton HillWe went down to Macon today to finally meet Landon. (My cousin and his gf's new baby).
He is only 2 weeks old, and absolutely adorable.Look at the little monkey!
Chase and Andrea looked good too!
I did get peed on, which my grandmother informed me, is good luck....we'll go with that.He already knows the pledge of allegiance, what an over achiever.

Day 94: Opening Night!

After a long day of not doing much in a patient simulation lab for 8 hours, I finally left to go home around 1600.
My grandparents were there when I got home, and we went to see Sean's performance of Fiddler on the Roof!
It was amazing, I'm going all three nights. It's amazing how the show grows in three days.
Here is my seat in the auditorium...I'm kind of a big deal....(LOL)
Sean's is right next to me.

Day 93: Relief

Took my third exam for med-surg today. At first my grade was not very happy...but it turned out that the entire test was keyed wrong!! So, happy happy day, I actually did really well on the Exam.I was going through all my stuff today to get more organized and I found this.......the best part is that Amy colored in the "magic" for me. :-)

Day 92: Rain, Rain, Go Away!

I don't know what else to do. I've studied, and reviewed, and studied, and you-tubed, and read...and I still feel unprepared, but at the same time I feel like I know all of my notes..
Does anyone else ever feel like that?
There's 3 tests left for med-surg, and 1 for peds. I'm so close I can smell it.

I've also discovered that cheez-its will be the death of me. They are so delicious, I can't stop eating them. This is basically all I've eaten today.
There was a person in the dorms with a knife today..scary! I hope everyone is ok.

On a happy note, Emma has been practicing her smile. She's getting pretty good.

Day 91: In the home stretch

The semester is finally feeling like it is almost over. I have 4 tests left till I'm done. (2 hesi's 1 final and 1 exam). woo-hoo.
I've been really good about running 5 times a week for the past 2-3 weeks. It makes me feel like I've gotten something accomplished, and that I'm not completely lazy.
Megan came with me todayShe may be small, but she hauls booty! You can tell we ran....we're all red and sweaty.

I opened my egg carton to make dinner and pulled out 2 eggs.....one of the eggs was VERY light. From the top, all of the eggs looked fine at the store. This what was "in" the other egg. What the heck? I got gypped one egg!
It was completely dry on the inside and everything. It must have cracked in the factory or in shipping. The carton wasn't wet when I bought it either.

Day 90: I win!

I got all of the achievements before Chris in a game we've been playing on his xbox360.
:o)
I've become accustomed to spending quality alone time. I've really liked it....a lot! After a nice jog, I made a smoothie. I've been making them a lot lately.

Day 89: How do you like your salad?

And we return to the age old question...How do you like your salad? Apparently he complained too much back at the beach about "cold" vs. "cold/cold" salads...and Chris got a "warm" salad.

He can't ever win.

Day 88: Study Day!

I'd like to give a shout-out to Amy for letting me borrow her NCLEX book for studying. It has been really helpful!
Chris played volleyball today, and when he got back he was really tired. "Why can't I eat through osmosis?" - Chris

Day 87: Last day of Clinical!!!!!

I came home from my last day of clinical, and found this little guy on my floor.

Day 86: Big Pimpin'

Emma was really worried we were going to get shot while I was taking a picture of this awesome car....we survived, just in case you were wondering...

Day 85: Phase 10

Went for a quick 2 mile jog at the new park I found over the weekend. I really like it there.
I learned how to play Phase 10 today. We sat outside and basked in the sunshine....
...our butts left impressions on the grass....

Little Megan - "Look, I can shake my butt....wait...it has stage fright."

Day 84: Mondays...

I turned in an application to work at the new bookstore downtown. We'll see if anything comes from that.
The media was ALL over campus and around the courthouse today.Stupid football player, sullying the name of our awesome school and town.

Day 82: Relaxation!

What a fun day of doing absolutely nothing.
Chris and I ventured out for breakfast, and ended up getting rear ended in the drive-thru of McDonalds. Chris went out and checked his car for damage, luckily there wasn't any. The old man was driving a HUGE truck with a grill on the front, and he paid for our $5 breakfast. He got off easy. Not to mention he had at least $500 dollars in his shirt pocket.
Chris then vowed not to drive anywhere the rest of the day....so I drove around town for the rest of the day. Good thing we didn't go through any more drive-thru's.
Chris brought me back a surprise from his trip to Texas.Oh yeah, and I did laundry.

Day 83: Happy Happy Joy Joy

Me: (pointing at my car)...Oh noooo! I got pooped on!
Emma:....hehehehe......I did it!
Not too much going on today, just getting last minute stuff done before class tomorrow.
I was almost heading to bed, and noticed that even my iPod was in military time...Nursing has taken over my life. Not to mention, I need to dust...eeww.

Day 81: Adventures!

Peter came down to Milledgeville today to pick up some transcripts. We went to lunch at the Greek place here in town, and it was delicious! Then we went on an adventure in the park, and found the bridge/castle in the woods. This park is really nice, and I think I'll go running here. We goofed off and took a TON of pictures.I did a lot of handstands and cartwheels.Peter was Superman. We played on these interesting swing/trapezes.
I got almost upside down.
...then Peter decided to be Sheldon...

Day 80: Rain

Praise God it rained today, the pollen will finally be washed away, and maybe I will stop sneezing so much.Alfredo and Blue Steel got a bath today.
The only bad part is the giant yellow pond we now have in the parking lots.

Day 79: pollen is horrible

Class as usual, only no one was there because they were all working on their process papers. I was smart and wrote mine last month. Hooray!
Emma showed us her videos from Costa Rica.
Hannah's doll smelled good, so she sniffed it.

Day 78: No Clinical Day

I love days where I don't have clinical scheduled. It makes life so nice and quiet.I hate when this happens...but it looked kinda cool.

Monday, April 5, 2010

Day 77: LICE!

We talked about lice today in class....I've been itching all day.
I had to go back to the hospital and dig through some medical records for my process paper that is due this Thursday. Once it is over, I feel like it's all downhill from there.
Emma came back today!!! YAY!!!Daniel sent us all presents. I got two teddie bears that are stuck together. He said it was supposed to be me and Chris. Very cute!
Then after eating a ton of Cheez-its, Amy and I went for a jog.
Exercise is good.

Day 76: Hoppy Easter!

Happy Jesus is Back Day!
Apparently all of the trees decided that today was THE day for releasing pollen, so I went to my car and found this.Needless to say, my allergies are acting up.
